I really love this painting by James Christensen. This similar to how I am at home: I wear something comfortable (usually sweat pants or my PJs) and everything I need is spread around me: my PC, my camera, whatever I'm reading, my knitting project. My husband refers to it as my "docking station".
Random ideas and images. Fashion, decorating, style...whatever I find beautiful.

Denim Coat
Because I was wearing an ice-cream coloured sweater, I had to get some ice-cream. Here I'm also wearing my denim coat: I absolutely adore it.
Ice-Cream Colours
My Mom had bought this sweater for herself, but ended up giving it to me. I love the colour: it always reminds me of my fave flavour of ice-cream: mint chocolate chip.

Hearty
I knitted this yesterday (during one evening), just to practice creating pictures with textures in knitting. The pattern is from the book Stich 'n Bitch by Debbie Stoller. I learned to knit from that book and in my opinion it's the best book for complete beginners - it really shows you what to do step by step.
I thought I might use this heart as a decorative element in some project, such as a handbag, a pillow or the back of a denim jacket. Let's see where it eventually ends up.

Kenzo the Cat
Kenzo was posing for the camera today; so cute. He is now pretty much fully grown. Our twins, Kenzo and Chanel are now a year old, so not kittens anymore.
Oatmeal Cookies
Pink Tunic
My husband found the sunglasses in the street! All of my jewelry is from India. The purse is a recent purchase on a trip to Prague. It's Italian design and leather, but cost next to nothing. The shoes are also from Italy.
I wore this today to go grocery shopping.

Namibia
This is my idea of perfection - very "Out of Africa". I absolutely love this and want to go on safari immediately. I don't know why I'm obsessed with Africa lately.

At the Airport
The pants and sandals are from India, the jacket is Japanese, but I bought it in Helsinki. Unfortunately, I machine washed the jacket after this trip and it shrunk beyond recognition, so this was the first and only time I wore it.
The small backpack is from Samsonite and I have to say that it's been the most durable bag I've ever owned. My husband now uses it when he goes to the store and he carries 3 bottles (of 1,5 Litres each) of Coke Zero in it at once, but it's still going strong. I bought it so long ago that I don't even remember where and when, but it must be at least 20 years old.
Windy
I love the atmoshpere of this painting - admiring the forces of nature.

Blue Suede Bag
Flower
A tiny flower photographed with the macro setting. I don't know what this flower is called, but they're everywhere in Poruba right now.
Saturday in the Park
My blue suede bag is new. It's F&F, i.e. Tesco's own brand and it was on sale. I paid something like 15 euros for it and it's leather and suede. In Finland, the only place where you could get a leather bag for that kind of price is from a thrift shop.
My sunglasses are Alain Mikli. I bought them in Paris more than 6 years ago and I had them converted into reading glasses in India. So they're now my "reading in the sun" glasses.
The rest of my outfit is the same as in a previous post.

Pizza made by hand
My first ever job title was actually "Pizza Maker" at Canada's Wonderland (an amusement park) near Toronto, Canada. But there, the pizza dough and the tomato sauce were ready-made, so I only prepped other ingredients (grated cheese, tomatoes, lettuce), made caesar salad and - mostly - put together the pizzas, which was done at lightning speed. And then of course I baked them as well. The funny thing is that I didn't even like pizza at that time. Now of course it's one of my favourite things to eat. I only wish that in my job as Pizza Maker I would've also learnt to make the dough the Italian way, i.e. to twirl it in the air, etc. Oh well, maybe I'll need to work in a pizzeria in Italy some day. Then again, maybe you need a degree in pizza making to work at an Italian pizzeria - it's an art form there.
Bali
Bali has for several years been one of my dream destinations. I don't know how many years it will be until I finally get there.

Pink Building
Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Home-made Bread
Our breakfast this morning was home-made bread and coffee. My Mom used to make this kind of simple bread (we call it "tea bread" in Finland) quite often when we were kids, but I don't think I've had it for a few decades. The smell of it baking instantly brought me back to my childhood - like Proust's madelaines.
Dandelion
Today I tried something I've never done before: I picked dandelion leaves from our backyard and used them in my salad. This salad was the most delicious salad I've eaten in a long time - eventhough I eat salad nearly every day. I baked the bread today as well. I dipped pieces of the bread in the same salad dressing I used for the salad.
View
A tourist enjoying the early morning on the beach. The heat starts to rise very quickly, so the early morning and late afteroon are the best times to be on the beach.
Palolem Beach, Goa, December, 2010.
On the Beach
This was Christmas Eve, 2011. This is exactly how I like to spend Christmas: on the beach in my bare feet. We had amazing fresh fish and Sula Brut sparking wine (India's finest).
Pink Lady on the Phone
Dress, sunglasses and ring all from India. The phone is by Nokia.
Toes in the Sand
It's been really cold in the Czech Republic so far this spring, so I'm really waiting for the summer.
Photo taken in Palolem, Goa in December of 2011.
Goan
Typical evening activity in Goa: reading my kindle in our favourite bar/restaurant.
My clothes and jewelry are from India.
Taken on December 27th, 2011 at Palolem Beach, Goa.
Ring
The book shown is Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts - really amazing book!

Bandana
The green bracelet is from Leena Collection.
Walking
My pants, sandals, bag and sunglasses are all from India. The cardigan is from a thrift store and it's actually a men's cardigan.
Horseback
I love this photo, which is scanned a long time ago from a catalogue, probably H&M. I used to ride horses as a child and I've always loved them. The sweater also looks cool and I'd like to knit something similar to this one day.
