Close up of an apple pie I baked in September of 2009. My husband had visited some friends in Salo, Finland and they had apple trees....so he came back with a bunch of them. I baked an apple pie according to an authentic American recipe, and it was really delicious. I am obsessed with photographing food...I take a photo of nearly everything I cook at home or eat at a restaurant. Sometimes I think that the restaurant staff takes me for a food critic. That might be my dream job, actually!

Austria
We travelled by train though Austria twice this summer. This was taken from the moving train, through the window pane. It's somewhere in Austria. I really fell in love with Austria and with mountains in general on this trip. I really want to see more of them!

Desk
For some reason, I never use a desk or table for surfing. I am always sitting either in bed or on the sofa and the laptop is literally in my lap. Of course now we have neither a sofa nor a bed, so I am always sitting on the matress on the floor and leaning up against the wall. But I really love this photo of Rumi and it makes me rethink - should I have a desk of some sort?

Bath & Fireplace
This is simply the best idea ever and one that I hope to implement some day in my home: the bath right next to the fireplace: the perfect combination. This was also on Freshhome's Facebook page.
