Volcano

This is the only time I've visited an active volcano. You can't get too close or the fumes could kill you. There's a very pungent smell. This was one of the hottest days of my life, but luckily it was dry heat. My husband and I had hats and big bottles of water with us and were shocked that many of the tourists came without hats and with nothing to drink. One British man - who was as red as a lobster - looked like he was going to have a heart attack. This was taken on our honeymoon in 2008 on the Greek Island of Santorini.

Tiina

Our late cat Tiina has climbed our cherry tree. This was in Toronto, Canada, where I lived for 6 years. Tiina moved from Canada to Finland with us and lived for 19 years.

I found this amazing photo on Facebook and simply had to share it. It's taken in Wadduwa, Sri Lanka. It really reminds me of Goa, India but then again, it's not all that far from Goa.

Photo taken some decades ago with a non-digital camera. I had previously scanned it and I now photo-edited it a bit. I used to live in this neighbourhood of Helsinki, Finland. The building in the background is the Design Museum, which I loved to visit.

Moon Stone

Another fave pair of earrings from India. These are not super high quality, so I don't know if the silver is even sterling. I believe that the stone is called Moon Stone. I love the design of these earrings; they look so very Indian.

Lapis Lazuli

A fave pair of earrings, which I bought for next-to-nothing in Jaisalmer, Rajastan, India. They are silver and lapis lazuli. I first heard of lapis lazuli as a teenager while reading a short story and ever since then, I've wanted to own some. Dreams do come true. I wear these all the time. They work very well with jeans. I also have a matching ring.
